Morphe “Fluidity” Line

Recently, popular makeup brand Morphe released their highly anticipated line of complexion products. The line, called the “fluidity” line, featured 60 foundation shades, 31 concealers, and 15 shades of setting powders. Upon its release, the makeup world was buzzing. No product line has ever been bold enough to release THIS many shades in a first release. With that being said, lets go over this release.

This foundation is a full-coverage, matte foundation. It claims to have a 24-hour wear time, as well as being sweat-proof, water-proof, and transfer-proof. It’s broken into 5 different color ranges (light, medium, tan, deep, and rich) and within those ranges there’s variety of warm, cool, olive and neutral shades.

Fluidity Full-Coverage Concealer ($9)

This concealer is a full-coverage, matte concealer. It claims to have a 16-hour wear time, as well as being sweat-proof and water-resistant.

Filter Effect Finishing Powder ($12)

This is a matte finishing powder, with shades ranging from fair to deep, with the addition of one translucent shade. It is a pressed powder, complete with a mirror compact inside and a powder puff.

Primers: Equalizer and Revitalizer (both $12)

This line also featured 2 primers, aptly named the Equalizer and the Revitalizer. The Equalizer is a silicon-based primer, helping to fill in pores and smooth out texture. The Revitalizer is a water-based primer, perfect for giving dry skin a boost of hydration.

So, with that being said, what’s the tea? As of late, many Youtubers such as MannyMUA, Thomas Halbert, and Alyssa Ashley, have all come out with their reviews on the line. Most of all the reviews thus far have been absolutely scathing.

Comments have been made that the foundation “smells like paint,” the powders all leave green/grey hues on the face, and the concealers are un-blendable. Additionally, reviews state that the products last nowhere near their advertised wear time, it sticks to dry patches, and it’s likely separate/crack on the skin. Basically, these products are a nightmare for those with dry skin.

So, while everyone is impressed by the shade range, that’s not enough to keep this line afloat. There’s no reason to compromise quality just to have more shades. Hopefully, Morphe learned their lesson on this one.
